In a TV interview Retired General Hameed surprised most people by
insinuating that Musharraf allowed BB to return to Pakistan on
the promise that she would not take action against Musharraf's
Presidency and would not reinstate Iftikhar Chaudhry as CJ.
Hameed Gul went on to say that after getting NRO promulgated
she broke her promises. Therefore she was eliminated.
Neither the General nor the self styled Sherlock Holmes of TV
could explain that it was Nawaz Sharif who was very vocal about
reinstating Chaudhry Iftikhar and to go for trial of Musharraf whereas
BB was not so deadly against Musharraf. Why than Musharraf did
not eliminate Nawaz Sharif? Why Musharraf did not get Iftikhar
Chaudhry assassinated?
There were attempts on the lives of President Musharraf and Prime
Minister Shaukat Aziz. A suicide bomber killed Pakistan military's
Surgeon General. As BB was assuring the US that she could better
than Musharraf in combating terrorism, why those forces who wanted
to kill Musharraf for supporting US would spare BB? It does not
require much common sense to get the answers. But Hameed Gul's
common sense is impaired by his own ego and prejudices.
Pro PML (N) supporters like Hameed Gul associate ideas not
according to logic or verifiable exactitude, but according to their
pleasure and interests and prejudices and they distort truths and
indulge in mud slinging by misconstruing facts. .
